I am Katrell Mack, founder of UTLPhotography. I am based in NYC and my speciality is in creative photo composites. My journey in photography began as a child when I was given my first cellphone. I remember trying to capture everything. From people, cars, nature, really anything that caught my eye. My passion for photography grew leaps and bounds when I reached high school and joined the photography program. I got my hands on my first real camera and there was no looking back. This is when I began to hone my technical skills. I spent countless hours just shooting and editing. I shot and edited portraits, events, nature, pretty much any and everything in the environment around me. But it was in all of the editing that I was forced to dive into Photoshop and I found my surreal style. So many things caught my eye but I was no longer looking from the same lens. I was maturing and found myself beginning to see the world differently. But in my art I did not want to lose that youthful energy that originally drew me to photography. So, I decided to combine the two worlds. I began to create whimsical images that showcased the wonders of our fantasies. It became the bridge between my past and future. So as I shoot and edit, you can see a touch of that youthful innocence in all of my subjects. Or you can feel the conflict between the two.
